Abstract

The Circular Fresnel zone plate antenna can achieve the same focusing properties of conventional lens or reflectors by controlling the phase shifting property of the aperture rather than its shape. Hence being lighter, easy to design and manufacture at low cost, it may become promising candidate for consumer electronics market. This paper presents two designs of Fresnel zone plate antenna. Here we studied few research papers related to their design and focusing properties. The effect of different design parameters (focal length, diameter, frequency, number of zones) on radiation characteristics are examined.
