Aluminum matrix composites (AMCs) are potential materials used in various applications due to their good physical and mechanical properties. The property can be improved or enhanced by addition of reinforcements into the metallic matrix which improves the stiffness, creep and fatigue, specific strength, wear properties compared to the conventional engineering materials. Fly ash is used as the reinforcement material which is abundantly available as industry byproduct with different weight fraction based on the property required. It is used as the reinforcement to produce composite by stir casting. Several works are been carried out using fly ash as reinforcing material. In manufacturing the particulate reinforced composites the stir casting is the suitable method used and which helps in achieving a uniform distribution of reinforcement within the matrix, which affects directly on the properties and quality of composite material.
