In the latter part of the 18th century, the Naga Sanyasi of the Dasnami sect, followers of Aadiguru Shankaracharya, united in an armed rebellion against British colonial exploitation not only in north Bengal but also in East Bengal seeing the followers of Shankaracharya Muslim Madari Fakirs also joined this rebellion. 1750-1800 AD History of Bengal till date, especially the book of Asit Nath Chandra, The Sanyasi Rebellion; The book of Jaimini Mohan Ghosh, Sanyasi and Fakir Raiders in Bengal; an article of David N. Lorenzan, Warrior Aesthetics in Indian History and a study of Benkim Chandra Chatterjee's novel "Anand Math" etc showed that these homicidal Monks were not alone in this rebellion but unemployed and starving deputies of the Mugal empire, artisans and there were also farmers repersenting the majority population of India 1757 AD after the defeat of nawab Siraj-ud-Daula in the Battle of Plassy, a new era in the History of Bengal heralded. The east India company began to interfere in trade as well as in the politics of Bengal 1764 AD in the Buxar war. The east India company once again defeated the combined forces of nawab Mir Qasim of Bengal and nawab shujauddaula of Awadh. As a result 1765 AD in the east India company received the civil rights of Bengal. Due to which political instability and chaos spread in Bengal and colonial exploitation started there. Finally there was the sannyasi - fakir rebellion in Bengal. Not only this, its rebellion laid the appropriate background for all the series of rebellions in the future.This article presented highlights various problems of famous, land revenue, cottage industries especially silk and handicrafts, artisans, fired soldiers, Sanyasi and Fakir etc from this colonial exploitation.
