Title

Optimization of Surface Roughness for milling of Zirconia Ceramic Material

Abstract

In this study, taguchi method was utilized for optimization of surface roughness in milling of zirconia ceramic material. Experiments were performed by varying the cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut which were the control factors. An orthogonal array L9, signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were employed to study the performance characteristics in milling of zirconia ceramic material using tungsten carbide tool. The investigation revealed that the depth of cut was the most influential parameter followed by cutting speed.
