Title

“VRS as a tool to Manage Human Resource: A study to Analyse the impact of VRS on individuals with special reference to Wagholi, Pune”

Abstract

Starting from Second World War the term which was used to improve the management of people in various Industries was human relation then personnel management, labour relation and new one is management of human resource. In today's world it becomes very crucial to manage human resource in organization .The organizations have spent millions for make their employees productive, loyal and motivated. The companies are investing on supervisory training, interpersonal behavior, T- group sensitivity training, job enrichment, Flexible benefits and expanded fringe benefits and now companies are attempting to revive the work ethics with Human Resource Department. A major technique for managing the human resource is voluntary retirement scheme (VRS). There are two types of retirement or you can say there are two ways to retire one is called compulsory retirement and another one is voluntary retirement but in voluntary retirement there is an opportunity to the company two retrench the excess strength of the employees without opposition of trade unions. The paper discussed about VRS as a technique of managing human resource in organizations. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of VRS on VRS holders. In pune district wagholi area have many institutions Government, Semi-government and Private. In the study 50 respondents were used to analyze the impact of VRS.
