Title

Experimental Analysis of Friction Stir Welding Parameters of 6111-T4 Aluminum Alloys

Abstract

In this investigation, the effect of friction stir welding process parameters Like Tool Travel speed, Rotational speed ,Preheating temperature, Tilt angle on ultimate tensile strength ,elongation and micro structural properties of Friction sir welding joint of 6111-T4 by Taguchi method. By Taguchi design and analysis for process parameters and experimental results, it gives the maximum responses such as Tensile strength and Elongation at the condition of Rational speed ,Tool travel speed , Tilt angle ,Preheating temperature 1350 rpm,20 mm/min, 20 , 400 0F Respectively. An ANOVA analysis indicates an influence of individual parameters on Ultimate Tensile strength and percentage of Elongation of welding joint respectively . a mathematical relations are proposed for Tensile strength and Elongation
