Phytoremediation of Solid Waste: A Review

Abstract
In developing world, solid waste management has become increasingly problematic. In last few decades, pytoremediation is being used to remediate and rehabilitate solid waste. It uses various plants to extract, contain and immobilize contaminants from soil. Plant microbial associations seem to be the key to enhance the removal of organic and inorganic pollutants. This paper demonstrates the feasibility of remediating the solid waste through phytoremediation so that the native ecosystems can be restored and continue to function.
