The role of emotional intelligence towards achieving happiness in life is well recognized by researchers. Emotional intelligence has also been found to play a key role in the job performance of an employee. This study combines these two issues and attempts to investigate the impact of emotional intelligence (EI) on job performance and life satisfaction (LS) in the information technology (IT) sector in India. Adopting a quantitative research strategy, responses of selected IT sector employees were analyzed. Study findings indicate that there is a positive and significant relation among the three elements.It is recommended that the importance of emotional intelligence of IT sector employees should be recognized by the employers so that the industry could benefit from better employee performance and satisfaction in their lives can be achieved in the process.
