Abstract

Day by day demand of electricity increasing rapidly in the world, recently most part of generated electricity depends on Non-Renewable energy sources like coals, gases, nuclear etc. very few of them are generated from renewable energy sources. The reason of small participation of ‘renewwable sources’ in the energy system is the intermitt ent nature of renewable energy sources like solar panel, wind, tidal etc. The concept of Virtual Power Plant (VPP) easily adopts the involvement of micro generating units of renewable energy sourc es along with energy storage systems in the energy system. This paper explains the VPP coordination concept, the frame of VP P for energy system participation of renewable energy sources with working grid. An ‘Energy Management’ flow chart algorithm for VPP is also explained to encounter the interm ittency. A simple VPP model, having of two distributed generation (DG) representing RESs and two controlled dynamic loa ds, which also representing the storage device along with the load is demons trated in MATLAB-SIMULINK.
