Retrospective study was carried out with an aim to understand the prevalence and status of drug dependence in rural peoples of Sakri tahsil which is a semi-tribal tahsil of Dhulia district of Maharashtra State. Three villages namely Ghodade, Datarti and Zirnipada were selected for the purpose of present study. There were total 1410 individual villagers of all age groups were visited by personal interview and observation method. The rural peoples were commonly uses the drug like tobacco, alcohol, bidi (smoking), gutaka and snuff. From this survey, we reported that the peoples of all age groups including both gender are drug addicted. Among them males are more addicted to tobacco and alcohol whereas females are addicted to snuff. In another observation, comparatively scheduled tribe (ST) peoples are somewhat more addicted than other backward class (OBC) peoples. In age group wise observations, the middle age group persons in between 19-49 years old peoples was found to be more addicted than other two age group peoples.
