Background: Smartphones are turning into increasingly more vital in everyday life and provide a tremendous range of applications for information and communication. Smartphone addiction has immoderate use of smartphones that impact the everyday lives of customers. Objectives: To assess the level of smartphone addiction among adolescents and the association between the level of smartphone addiction among adolescents with their selected socio-demographic variables. Material and methods: A non-experimental descriptive research design was employed for this study. The population of this study includes adolescents who are studying in schools of Gwalior. Eighty adolescents who met inclusion and exclusion criteria were included in this study. Eligible subjects were selected by using a non-randomized convenient sampling technique by applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The finding of the study revealed that regarding the level of smartphone addiction, 47.5% of students had agreed and 26.2 % of students had strongly agreed, 6.3% of students had disagreed and 11.3% of adolescents had strongly disagreed with the impact o of a smartphone. Conclusion: The study result shows that most of the adolescents agreed that smartphones had an impact on their educational and social life. So it emphasizes the need for increasing adolescent’s knowledge on smartphone addiction and its impact to create awareness and to prevent the occurrence of smartphone addictions.
