Abstract
This paper explores the phenomenon of drug abuse among the youth in India. The paper includes with the factors responsible for drug abuse, review of literature available, on the extent and demographics of drug abuse used in India. The paper concludes with preventive strategies are required to be planned and suggested for drug abuse. It is also suggested that more studies on drug abuse are required to be done in India especially in Punjab to see the current situations and to find out the solutions for this situation
