Title

Simulation and Design of DC-DC Boost Converter for regulated DC link

Abstract

With the lack of the energy and ever increasing of the crude prices, research on the renewable and energy sources, especially the solar PV and the fuel cells, more important. How to get high step-up and high efficiency DC/DC converters is the major consideration in the renewable power applications due to the low voltage of PV arrays and fuel cells. In this work software simulation of closed loop controlled boost converter for solar installation is described. Models for open loop and closed loop controlled systems are developed using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results are compared with the theoretical results. This converter has advantages like increased power factor, quick response and reduced hardware requirements.
