This The term, Big Data, refers to a huge repository of terabytes of data that is generated each day from modern information systems and digital technologies such as Internet of Things and cloud computing. It has been chosen as the most promising research trends of the decade, drawing attention from every segment of the market and society. Big data analytics process includes deployment and use of analytic tools, revealing hidden patterns, incomprehensible relationship and other important data to support enhanced decisions and gain competitive advantages over business rivals. The importance of big data is increasing day by day. The basic objective of this paper is to explore the application areas of Big data, potential challenges in BDA, open research issues, and various tools associated with it.
