Title

Managing an Educational Institution: The Impact of Retaining Elite Teachers to Enhance K12 Schools Performance

Abstract

In prevailing times workforce is entirely different. Especially, experienced and competent teachers are not having any dearth of opportunities. No sooner, faculty feels dissatisfied with the current school, pay package, increment or lack of advancement options, they switch over. Consequently, the morale of remaining employees plunge, knowledge drain, pupil-parent-teacher relationship is strained. It is therefore, imperative to retain elite teachers, chiefly intellectual and veterans. Retention is a process where in faculty must be convinced to continue its service with the same institution as long as possible or till a particular session gets over. (Hom,1995). This is a quantitative descriptive study with Retention as independent variable and School performance is dependent variable. In this empirical study data from 76 teachers and principal of CBSE K12 schools would be collected across India. To achieve the objectives descriptive analysis and correlation analysis is performed.
