Title

Synthesis and Characterization of para-substituted benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone with Silver(I) halides

Abstract

Reaction of silver(I) halides with Ph3P in 1 : 1 molar formed [AgX(Ph3P)], which on reaction with 4-cyanobenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (4-CNHbtsc) or 4-methylbenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (4-MeHbtsc) to form complexes of stiochiometry, [MX(HL)(Ph3P)]2 (1-4). Ligands and complexes were characterized using IR and 1H NMR. Both IR and 1H NMR data suggested that thiosemicarbazone ligands are binding to metal centre as neutral form thus coordinating via thione sulfur.
