In this study kenaf fibre is taken into consideration and a study of its effective treatments with sodium hydro-oxide (NaOH) as an alkaline solution is done. Study and investigation of new materials has always been the keen interest of researchers. Present trend has shifted towards composites infact natural fibre composites because of the edge provided by them in achieving required mechanical properties from an environment friendly source. Aim of this study is therefore to further enrich the fabrication methodologies of natural fibre composites with surface modification techniques to improve their inherent properties.
