Abstract

Charge controller is the heart of battery operated BLDC motor driven e-vehicles. Selection of charge controller component parameters plays a vital role in extracting optimal power from the battery and enhancing it life. A comparative study is presented in this work to demonstrate the effect of charge controller's parasitic resistance on the performance of the system. Low input current ripple boost topology is selected for the study. The detrimental effect of the parasitic resistance is shown on the performance of the charge controller measured in terms of the output voltage and current ripple.
