Leukemia Detection Using Images Processing

Abstract
Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) is a fast growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. The need for automation of leukemia detection arises since current methods involve manual examination of the blood smear as the first step toward diagnosis. This is time consuming, and also the accuracy of the method depends on the operator’s ability. In this paper, various image segmentation and feature extraction methods used for AML detection are discussed.
