Forgetting is a common human instinct and it necessary also, but some important facts of human life and society which is very important for posterity and may be like marinas compass which will be guiding our future. Our fore fathers tried their best for happy future for next generation. Thousands of people laid their life down for the peace and security of ours. In the freedom struggle of India millions of people contributed in different forms only few are remembered by us. We should be sincere in expressing our gratitude as much as possible to the freedom fighter for whose sake we are enjoying freedom now. In this effort we came to know about a forgotten hero of South Bongaigaon region of lower Assam. Who was Late Durga Prasad Ray. Accordingly, we went to his residence and came across with his elder son named Kandarpa Kumar Ray and collected some information about the life and activities late Durga Prasad Ray which is really fascinating. As it is learnt though he suffered a lot during freedom struggle but he sacrificed active politics which could be availed easily. Even he denied the pension offered by the State Government. In this Paper we will try to focus on the life of Durga Prasad Ray.
