A plethora of bibliometric studies have been carried out to evaluate digital libraries. The present study attempted to carry out bibliometric study of open access scholarly resources in the field of biotechnology indexed by DOAJ. It tried to know languages in which the journals are published, article contributing countries, authorship trend, degree of collaboration among authors, thirst areas of research in the field of biotechnology etc. The study also focused on the affiliation of the contributing authors. The results reveal that collaborative research is given priority over solo research. The study further reveals that Barazil is the leading contributor of research papers in the field of biotechnology followed by UK and Egypt while affiliation of authors depict that most of the corresponding authors are affiliated to universities followed by research centers.
