Abstract Globalization and modernization has brought a change in the face of death by causing a paradigm shift from the communicable diseases to lifestyle and non communicable diseases (Mohan, 2013). Majority number of deaths has been attributed to cardiovascular diseases (48%), chronic respiratory disease (12%) and Diabetes (3%) (Beaglehole et al., 2011). The rise of NCDs has been driven by primarily four major risk factors: tobacco use, physical inactivity, the harmful use of alcohol and unhealthy diets (WHO, 2017). The present study aimed to study the role of Stress, Type A Behaviour, Optimism and Perfectionism on Rural and Urban Coronary Heart Disease patients. The sample comprised of 200 subjects out of which 100 were Rural Coronary Heart Disease patients and 100 were Urban Coronary Heart Disease patients. They were in the age range of 40-60 years. t-ratios were calculated to find out significant differences between the groups. Results were further discussed in terms of their implications.
