Title

Finite Element Analysis Of Wheel Rim For Cornering And Radial Load Condition

Abstract

The main objectives of this paper is to do design and finite element analysis of aluminum alloy wheel rim under radial and cornering loading conditions and ensure of its safety. Design of wheel rim is done in CATIA V5 cad modeling software and FEA has been carried out in hypermesh , processing is carried out in optistruct and radios and finally post processing is done by hyperview. During meshing Pshell and Psolid element were used. The FEA result will show us maximum von mises stresses and deflection. Major task in this project is the boundary condition and loading. The analysis also shows that the stress generated in the aluminum alloy wheel rim is in below the yield stress of the assigned material (aluminum alloy).
