Title

Amelioration Of Wheat (Triticum aestivum) Using Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (Pgprs) Isolated From Rhizosphere Of Rice (Oryza sativa)

Abstract

The present study was conducted to characterize the native plant growth promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) from rice rhizosphere in Ratanpur region of Madhya Pradesh. Two bacterial isolates (Azospirillum lipoferum & Pseudomonas putida) were purified, screened in vitro for PGPR characteristics and evaluated for their beneficial effects on the early growth of wheat (Triticum aestivum). Among two bacterial isolates, one (Azospirillum lipoferum) was nitrogen fixer; other (Pseudomonas putida) was able to solubilize inorganic phosphate .Both the bacterial isolates were identified on the basis of biochemical and morphological testing. Plant inoculation contemplates demonstrated that these PGPR separates give a conspicuous increment in shoot and root length, and shoot and root biomass. The study indicated the potential of these PGPRs as biofertilizer for enhancing growth and nutrient content of wheat and other crops under field conditions. The study is the report of wheat associated bacterial diversity in the Beepdi village near Ratanpur region of Madhya Pradesh.
