Title

Enhancement Of Mechanical Properties Of Composite Materials In Brake Pad Application

Abstract

Abstract: Metallic matrix composites are combinations of two are more different metals inter metallic compounds are seconds phases in which dispersed phases are embedded within the metallic matrix. MMC’s can be produced by controlling the internal structure of the constituents to get optimum combination of properties. Properties of the MMC’s depend on the properties of constituent phases, their relative amount, and dispersed phase geometry including particle size, shape and orientation in the matrix. In this work, comparative studies of Mechanical behavior of aluminum metal matrix metallic composites fabricated under powder metallurgy process to understand their process-structure-property relations. The optimized percentage of Sic reinforcement material has been found out. The variation in the percentage of Sic gives the different mechanical properties.
