Title

Thr Golden Era of the Golden Garbage

Abstract

Urban planning is that type of planning which regulates the use of space which focuses on the physical, social, economic and political functions of the environment. Waste Management is the process for the collection, transportation, and disposal or recycling and monitoring of waste. Urbanization contributes enhanced municipal solid waste (MSW) generation and unscientific handlings of Municipal solid waste deteriorate the urban environment and causes health hazards. This paper discusses about the complete view of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generation, features, collection, and treatment options which is practicing in India. The study also discusses about the unfold role of rag pickers. It also makes an attempt how the thermal treatment, aerobic, vermi-composting, etc are related to waste management. The paper also deals about how the waste has been turned into resources and its impact on 21st Century. The essential conditions of harnessing necessary benefits related to waste management are also discusses. It creates various opportunities for entrepreneurship which turns useless materials in to valuable resources. Some entrepreneurs thought that this can “turn garbage in to gold”. It aims to preserve the environment in rapidly developing nations. It introduces Japanese waste management and recycling technologies, which will effectively, turns waste into resources or dispose of it. This study also discusses about the environmental loaded 5Rs principal(R- Report, R- Reuse, R- Recycle, R-Reduce, and R-Recover).The presence of toxic and hazardous substance causes adverse impact on environment and public health. The role of Public Private Partnership (PPP) and NGOs also helps in implementing waste management system which cannot be financed only by the city leaders. There are various obstacles in improving the waste management system in India. So, in order to overcome with the problems of waste management system, the Government should make various recommendations, rules, policies, amendments, laws and procedures.
