Abstract

Generally, sales promotion is not used to generate long-term results or sales in the future but rather to generate sales now. The distinction between short term and long term results often may vary with the product category and the particular industry. Sales promotion includes incentives offering and interest creating activities which are generally short – term marketing events other than advertising, personal selling, publicity and direct marketing. The purpose of sales promotion is to stimulate, motivate and influence the purchase and other desired behavioral responses of the firm’s customers. The present study was undertaken for the purpose of studying the various sales promotion tools followed in the markets, with special focus on the perception of Businessmen & Professionals towards sales promotion tools. Also the study was conducted to determine the awareness level of Businessmen & Professionals towards various sales promotion tools. An effort was also made to understand the level of brand loyalty in businessmen and professionals. The study is restricted to Gurugram consist of 100 respondents.
