Thiosemicarbazone of 4-hydroxy-N –phenyl acetamide (TSCHPA) - a new crystal has been prepared and grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique. The grown crystal was subjected to UV-Visible spectral analysis to determine the optical transparency, Functional groups present in thio semicarbazone of 4-hydroxy-N –phenyl acetamide were identified by FT-IR spectral analysis. The grown crystal was subjected to Differential Scanning Calorimeter and Thermo Gravimetric analysis(DSC-TGA) to determine its thermal stability and decomposition pattern. The crystalline nature of grown crystal has been characterized by X-ray diffraction studies. The placement of protons were identified by NMR spectral analysis. Band gap of grown crystal was also determined.
