Title

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF COPPER SLAG AS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR FINE AGGREGATE TO EVALUATE STRENGTH PARAMETER OF CEMENT CONCRETE

Abstract

Concrete is extensively used material for the construction, in spite of this the fine aggregate is used abundantly as a composition of concrete material. Though using the fine aggregate available naturally can be replace by the waste material available as a end product of copper, blast furnace slag, fly ash etc. The alternative material usage as a fine aggregate may reduce the scarcity of sand and the impact on river bed due to excavation of more sand can be minimized. the use of alternative material give rise to the sustainable development in the construction by using limited naturally available material as a construction material. The present study replaces the fine aggregate by copper slag and finding the strength parameter of concrete and comparing with actual vales of concrete. The results prove that, the copper slag is a good alternative in the place of fine aggregates as a composition of concrete.
