Nowadays, cancer is one of the major life-threatening diseases which gives a big problem in both developed and developing countries. The mortality rate has been increasing in the worldwide day by day due to cancer. There are various types of cancer such as lungs, skin, breast, rectum, stomach, liver, prostate and esophagus etc. The cause of this type of cancer may be both external factors such as the increase in population, diet habit, and industrialization, and internal factors such as hormonal issues, genetic, and weak immune systems. Plant-derived compound has a vital role in the treatment of cancer. In this review, we explain about some medicinal plants have anticancer and other therapeutic activity due to the appearance of natural antioxidants, free radical scavengers, and quenchers of singlet oxygen. It will be helpful to elaborate on the medicinal plant's value and the new drug discover from them.
