Title

To Study of Structural, Magnetic and Dielectric Properties of Cd2+ Substituted Nickel Ferrite Oxide (Ni1-Xcdxfe2o4) Synthesis by Auto-Combustion Route.

Abstract

In this work cadmium (Cd2+) substituted nickel ferrite (NiFe2O4) were synthesized by simple gel auto-combustion technique. The X-ray diffraction confirms that the samples are polycrystalline with spinel cubic crystal symmetry. The lattice constants increased with increasing Cd2+ content which obeys Vegard's law. SEM confirms the highly porous surface with increasing symmetry. The two characteristic absorption bands around 392 and 600 cm-1 in infrared spectra confirm characteristic futures of ferrite. Magnetic measurements reveal that the saturation of magnetization decreases with an increase in Cd2+ constituent in ferrous oxide. The Cd2+ions present in A-site and Fe3+ are distributed in both tetrahedral and octahedral sites of spinel lattice. The DC measurement shows that the semiconducting behaviour and the curie temperature decrease with an increase in Cd2+ constituent. A dielectric measurement of all samples shows the usual dielectric dispersion with frequency. The impedance spectroscopy analysis suggests grain interior contribution in the conduction process.
