The Weave of My Life by Urmila Pawar aims at awakening the slumbered dalit community, especially dalit women, to fight against the wrongs inflicted upon them by both the Hindu caste system and patriarchal hegemony. As a powerful weapon against the tenets of caste and gender, the work fans the spark of a new sense of identity in the minds of the dalit women by instilling in them the courage and confidence to fight for their rights. The author believes that only education, courage and persistent efforts that can help them break the shackles of caste and patriarchy and earn them a respectable place in the society.
