Title

Valorization of Bio-based Waste Resources for the Production of High-quality Bioplastics

Abstract

The use of waste-based potential raw materials for degradable plastic has piqued interest due to the non-degradability of petroleum-based plastics. Various research studies have described and presented waste from many sources that can be used to synthesize bioplastic films, including starch-based, cellulose-based, protein-based, and oil-based waste. Bioplastic is produced either from biobased or biodegradable polymers or both. This review aims to present an insightful summary of the most recent advancements and development breakthroughs in bioplastic materials, concentrating on various applications. The quality and effectiveness of the bioplastics are analyzed concerning improvements in their mechanical, thermal, and processable properties. To bridge the gap between bioplastics and traditional plastics, improve bioplastic properties.
