Cleroendrum paniculatum Linn. is traditionally used in India, Japan and China for the treatment of numerous ailments like inflammation, neuralgia, ulcer, rheumatism and wounds. Objective of the present study is to investigate the phytochemical constituents by performing GC MS analysis. Qualitative phytochemical screening showed the presence of alkaloids, flavanoids, phenolics, tannins, glycosides and carbohydrates. Chromatogram of GC MS analysis of ethanolic extract showed the presence of Pentadecanoic acid, Oleic acid, Dodecanal, 1,1-Dodecanediol diacetate, 7- hydroxyl-3-(1,1-dimethylprop-2-enyl)coumarin. This study will help in the detection of active constituents responsible for the different biological activity of Clerodendrum paniculatum Linn.
