Title

A STUDY OF TEACHER EFFECTIVENESS AMONG THE TEACHERS OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN RELATION TO THEIR JOB INVOLVEMENT

Abstract

Education plays a major role altogether areas from personal to social development. It is the teacher who surely builds the future of child. The progress of a nation is highly dependent on its education system. The success of an education system depends on the quality of its teaching staff, which in turn depends on an effective teaching and learning process. Job Involvement is an important factor in teacher effectiveness and in improving schools. The level of involvement is very important in achieving educational goals. If the teacher is heavily involved in the job, he will take an active part in the academic activities of the school. A teacher who is deeply engaged in work will not show insincerity in his duties. Therefore, Job Involvement plays a very important role in shaping behaviour in any organization. Job Involvement is the degree to which people identify with their work, participate actively in it, and view performance levels as important to their own worth. A significant variable namely their job involvement in relation to teacher effectiveness is discussed in this study.
