Title

IMPACT OF ORGANICS AND BIO- FERTILIZERS ON GROWTH ATTRIBUTES OF MAIZE (Zea mays L.)

Abstract

A field experiment was carried out to study the “Impact of Organics and Bio-Fertilizers on Growth attributes of Maize (Zea Mays L.)” The experiment was laid out in randomized completely block design which comprises of 14 treatments and was replicated thrice viz., T1 : 75% NP +FYM, T2 : 75% NP + Enriched compost, T3 : 75% NP + vermicompost, T4 : 75% NP + Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + FYM (7.0 t ha-1), T5 : 75% NP + Azotobacter chroococcum + Pseudomonas fluorescence + FYM (7.0 t ha-1), T6 : 75% NP + Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + Enriched compost (7.0 t ha-1), T7 : 75% NP + Azotobacter chroococcum + Pseudomonas fluorescence + Enriched compost (7.0 t ha-1), T8 : 75% NP + Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + vermicompost (3 t ha-1), T9 : 75% NP + Azotobacter chroococcum + Pseudomonas fluorescence + Vermicompost (3 t ha-1), T10 : Recommended dose of NPK with FYM (7.0 t ha-1), T11 : Recommended dose of NPK + Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + Pseudomonas fluorescence + FYM, T12 : Recommended dose of NPK + Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + Pseudomonas fluorescence + Vermicompost, T13 : Recommended dose of NPK + Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + Pseudomonas fluorescence + Enriched compost, T14 : Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + Pseudomonas fluorescence. The study reveals that the highest plant height, plant dry matter and leaf area index was found in the treatment recommended dose of NPK + Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + Pseudomonas fluorescence + Enriched compost (T13) and it was statistically on par with treatment (T12) recommended dose of NPK + Azotobacter chroococcum + Bacillus megaterium + Pseudomonas fluorescence + Vermicompost.
