Title

IOT BASED DRAINAGE AND WASTE MANAGEMENT MONITORING AND ALERT SYSTEM FOR SMART CITY

Abstract

Drainage overflow problem is the major issue in major cities, most often it occurs due to the blockage, in such case it is essential to solve this problem immediately, otherwise surrounding people may fall sick due to the sewage. Many odour (Bad smell) and sewage problems lead to poor sanitation, leading to human and life-threatening diseases. It can overcome by implementing in innovative and effective ways. In this project work, Drainage overflow will be detected automatically and the information will be transmitted to the concern authority mobile phone through Wi-Fi module. Manhole monitoring system is also incorporated in this project work such that if the water is not flowing freely due to the blockage of sewage, more bad smell will be delivered from the manhole. This is because of dangerous gasses produced by the un-flowing dirty water. To detect dangerous gases such as methane, gas sensors can be used and this information also can be transmitted through same Wi-Fi module. LCD interfaced with Arduino is used to display the information. By implementing this kind of technology everywhere in major cities, drainage over flow problems can be solved immediately by which healthy environment can be created.
