Home science education is one of the professional courses under social science. Most probably, we can see that every parent prefers their children to take up an admin at medical colleges, engineering colleges and agricultural colleges. But, they don’t prefer to send their children and also the student’s have not interest in take admin in home science colleges, because they have negative attitude towards home science education. It is due to the lack of knowledge and interest of this education. In today’s life, education is so competitive and marketable to people. Home science education one of the multidisciplinary subject and after getting the degree from home science colleges students have many scope to stand as an independent human being. So, popularize and make them aware of this education, the researcher wants to take up a study on "Awareness and Knowledge of Students of Assam Agricultural University towards Home Science Education" in Jorhat district, with the objectives are: to study the background profile of the respondent, to find out the knowledge of agriculture students about home science education and to access the attitude of the agriculture students about home science education. This study reveals that most of the students (62.67%) had negative attitude and 56.67 per cent had a medium level of knowledge about home science education. It can be concluded that proper exposure through appropriate media can increase students' knowledge and awareness of home science education. Data also revealed that a significant association between respondents’ education with knowledge of the students towards home science education, on the other hand variables such as age and caste have no significant association with knowledge of the students regarding home science education.
