Seismic force is a critical load component while analysing and designing of different water tanks as it results in horizontal displacement. Horizontal Displacement in water tanks due to seismic force results in displacement and additional vibrations in whole structure. Hence there is a need to investigate various methods to minimize this horizontal displacement. Hence the objective of the work is to understand the structural behaviour of water tank subjected to seismic force with software and manual calculation. This thesis we have planned to analyse and design circular and rectangular water tank with different forces with software and manual calculation.
