Title

PERFORMANCE OF PANCHAYATI RAJ INSTITUTIONS : A STUDY IN ANDHRA PRADESH

Abstract

Based on the framework provided in the 73rd Constitutions Amendment Act the State Governments passed legislation and framed rules to give shape to the rural local government. The successful implementation of constitutional amendment and the state legislation and rules determine the overall functioning of panchayati raj institutions. in this article an attempt was made to assess the performance of panchayati raj institutions through a study in Andhra Pradesh.
