A cloud storage system featuring a two-factor data security protection method and factor revocability. Through a cloud storage server, our system enables a sender to send an encrypted message to a recipient. Only the recipient's name and no further information is required of the sender (such as its public key or its certificate). To decrypt the cipher text, the receiver needs to have two items. The first thing is his or her computer-stored secret key. The second item is a special computer-connected personal security gadget. Without either component, it is impossible to decrypt the cipher text. More crucially, this device is cancelled as soon as the security device is stolen or lost. No cipher text can be decrypted using it. The sender is fully informed during the entire procedure. Furthermore, no encryption text can ever be decrypted by the cloud server. The analysis of security and effectiveness reveals that our system is not only safe but also useful.
