Title

LIDAR BASED DRONE TO DETECT OBJECT

Abstract

In this era the technology increasing rapidly. This technology is increasing in allfields like robotics, aerial vehicle, agriculture, industrial purposes etc. we can usethese technologies. This report presents the design, development, and testing of amicro drone equipped with a Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) sensor for indoor navigation and obstacle avoidance. The proposed micro drone uses a quadcopter platform and a single-point LIDAR sensor mounted on top of the drone. The LIDAR sensor is used to detect obstacles in the environment and enable the drone to navigate autonomously. The system was tested in a variety of indoor environments with different types of obstacles, including walls, furniture, and people. The micro drone was able to navigate through these environments, avoid obstacles, and successfully complete a pre-determined path without any human intervention. The mini drone consists of 4 drone motots with propellers with arduino pro mini , F3 evo controller and a lidar sensor and buzzer. The lidar sensor uses IR for detecting any obstacle in front of it.If any obstacle is detected the lidar sensor are decoded by controller to operate a buzzer and led for indication of obstacle proximity alert. The user is constantly alerted with about the proximity by modify the led and buzzer frequency as per proximity so drone can be controlled accordingly to avoid collision. The small drone uses four motors to lift off and control the flight. The RC controller command are interpreted and used by flight controller through the RF receiver to achieve desire flight movement. The drone makes use of an arduino pro mini to sense the proximity using lidar and the operate the led and buzzer accordingly.
