Dermatitis is amongst the most common skin diseases. This disease is very complex to treat and also time taking. Lots of patients suffering from dermatitis only get relief while they are on medication of some kind. Modern medicine cannot completely cure hand dermatitis. This disease usually presented with symptoms like thickened skin on palm, Severe Itching, pain, scratchy skin, dryness1. Usually it is chronic . Role of stress is documented in hand dermatitis. Hand dermatitis can be correlated with Vipadika in Ayurveda. It is characterized by symptoms of Twak Sphutan and Vedana of sole and palm. It is Vata Kapha Dosha dominant type of skin disease. Kalyanak ghrita is mentioned in Charak Chikitsa- Unmaad Chikitsa adhyay. This ghrita given in shamana matra can successfully treat Vipadika.
