Title

Design and Simulation of PV Powered Bidirectional Four Port Transform with Battery Energy Storage System

Abstract

Huge demand in electrical power necessitates effective energy conversion and storage technologies for the use of renewable energy sources. In this study, a bidirectional four-port converter powered by photovoltaics (PV) and combined with battery accumulating system (BAS) is designed and simulated. By facilitating bidirectional power flow across several ports, the suggested method boosts PV systems' overall performance and optimize energy management. The addition of battery in the system improves the system's capabilities by enabling grid contact and serves like energy buffer. The BAS serves as a buffer, holding extra energy created by PV array when it is sunny and releasing it when it is overcast or dark. Additionally, the battery's bidirectional functionality enables it to discharge to the grid during times of high demand and charge from the grid at off-peak times, both of which help to stabilize the system and lower the power prices.
