Title

Optimizing Rod Coating Transitions: Effective Practices Without the Need for Dyno Testing

Authors

Abstract

The comprehensive research study undertakes a broad investigation into the implementation and validation of manganese phosphate coating on rod bolts to cater for a full, inclusive, and pinch-obliging range of component level specifications. The range of specifications targets the generalized series of topics, which include diverse forms of metallurgical integrity, dimensionally compliant, concrete properties, including material flow, and an extensive review of both heat treatment and surface characteristics. The paper offers a comprehensive component level review with elaborate experiments like torque-to-failure and clamp-load tests, paying particular attention to torque yield and tension comparisons. Bench testing is among the most important sections of the research; rod assembly bolt fatigue strength studies would be included in this section. The additional analysis undertaken in this study is an extensive validation of the bolt's dimensions, the material making it up, the quality of the thread, and a statistical confidence interval to review the dimensions of bolt material. Importantly, the study documents that all these alterations to the bolt do not change the manufacturing process and hence ensure performance and reliability of the bolt for practical use is improved.

Key Words

Manganese Phosphate Coating, Rod Bolts, Torque-to-Failure, Clamp Load, Fatigue Strength, Surface Condition, Component-Level Testing, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Process Capability Index (Cpk), Metallurgical Integrity.
