Title

Exergy Analyses of Multi-Condenser Vapour Compression Refrigeration System

Abstract

In the commercial, industrial, and residential domains, refrigeration is crucial for applications involving heating, cooling, and food preservation. A second law-based method for calculating losses and improving system performance via tweaking design parameters to minimize the expense of the refrigeration cycle is called exergy analysis. The exergy analysis in this study shows the experimental configuration of a VCRS, which contains refrigerant (R134a) and two types of condensers: Air-Cooled and Water-cooled condensers. Afterward, experiments were performed to compare pure water and Titanium dioxide (TiO2) based nanofluid as a static fluid in the condenser. The concentration of nano-particles in the base fluid water is taken as 0.03% by volume. Here, it is observed that compressor pressure, sub-cooling, condensing temperature, and evaporation temperature all affect exergy. The intensity of heat in the surrounding air is another factor. In most of the studies, it is found that the compressor has the largest exergy loss among the system's components in vapor compression. Indirectly, nanofluid and nano-lubricants lower the compressor's exergy losses.
