An Overview on School of Economic Thought

Abstract
The history of economic thought is the examination of the ideas and philosophies of many scholars in the fields that eventually developed into political economy and economics, spanning from antiquity to the twenty-first century. Numerous diverse schools of economic thinking are included in this study. The paper provides a quick overview of the mainstream macroeconomic theories, which include Keynesians, Classicals, New Classicals, Fisherman and aims to understand the contributions of these economic thinkers towards macroeconomics. These schools of economic thinking are significant because they are connected to political economy and because macroeconomics has benefited from their contributions.
