Title

"FLEXIBILITY IN CURRICULUM UNDER NEP 2020: A CATALYST FOR MULTI-DISCIPLINARY LEARNING AND VIKSIT BHARAT@2047"

Abstract

With an emphasis on inclusive, equitable, and transdisciplinary learning, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 establishes the framework for reforming India's educational system in order to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. The flexibility of curriculum design, which allows students to customize their educational courses based on their interests, abilities, and professional goals, is a fundamental component of this shift. The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), the Multiple Entry-Exit system, and transdisciplinary course offerings are just a few of the initiatives implemented under NEP 2020 to bring curricular flexibility to higher education institutions. This study examines these efforts. In line with international educational standards, the study also emphasizes how these reforms promote creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. But there are a number of obstacles in the way of creating a flexible and diverse curriculum, including faculty training, institutional preparedness, infrastructure limitations, and opposition to altering conventional teaching methods. This study attempts to assess the success of these activities and offer solutions to the problems by thoroughly reviewing policy papers, institutional case studies, and stakeholder viewpoints. The study's conclusion emphasizes how important curriculum flexibility is to producing a workforce that is knowledgeable, flexible, and prepared for a developed India by 2047.
