From tme immemorial herbs are used as remedies in clinical practce. In ayurveda medicine herbs are usually used in combinatons or singly (Eka Moolika Prayoga). Ayurveda medicine is more benefcial in chronic and non-communicable diseases. Ayurveda herbs are not only efectve in eradicatng the diseases but also increases immunity, strength and improve the quality of life. Shunthi is used in food recipes and also in formulatons as medicines. It is Katu rasa Yukta, Usna Virya, Dipana, Pachana, CNS stmulant, Ant-allergic and Ruchi Prada also. It is commonly given in diseases like Kasa, Shwasa, Pratshaya, Pinasa, Kshavathu, chronic bronchits, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, emphysema, and fungal infectons of the lungs. As it has ant histamine acton it can be given in allergic conditons like rhinits and urtcaria. It is also an ingredient of Trikatu which is a common ingredient most of the formulaton which are utlised in clinical practce The present paper highlights about the clinical indicaton of Shunthi in scientfc and experimental view
