Title

DESIGN OF DYNAMIC QUEUE COUNTER AND ALERT SYSTEM USING ESP32 AND FIREBASE FIRESTORE

Abstract

The project involves the design and implementation of a Smart Queue Management System using an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with Firebase Firestore for real-time monitoring and automation. The system replaces manual queue handling with a digital and automated process. Customer information input from the kiosk is sent to the cloud and reflected on the web-based interface. The display unit shows a queue of 10 customers at a time; each group is viewed for 15 seconds, and it automatically updates when the Next button is pressed.The four control buttons include Start, Next, Hold, and Missed, which help in managing the queue efficiently. Start and Next record service duration to track and calculate the average service time; Hold keeps a hold on the current service, while Missed is used for marking absent customers, automatically shifting them to the tenth position in the queue. The system also sends automated notifications to customers via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) when they are at the 5th and 2nd positions, asking them to get ready for their turn. This smart solution increases the efficiency of service, minimizes the waiting time, and ensures seamless, real-time communication between service providers and customers.
